Description
PrecisionShift is a multi-layer directional structure indicator built for active traders across small-cap, micro-cap, and nano-cap equities. Rather than firing on a single crossover or threshold breach, it requires three independent conditions to align before a structural marker appears — a state flip, body conviction on the signal bar, and meaningful price separation from the trail reference. This three-part gate keeps markers rare and meaningful.
The state engine uses a four-point smoothed price source combined with an ATR-based adaptive trailing reference. Smoothing reduces sensitivity to bar noise and wick traps that cause premature state changes in volatile instruments. Cap tier detection runs automatically using market cap data with a dollar volume fallback — scaling both the trail multiplier and separation threshold to match the volatility profile of the instrument loaded, from Nano through Large, ETF, Futures, and Crypto. No manual sensitivity adjustment is required.
Structural markers (B/S) and expansion markers (BO/BD) represent qualitatively different conditions. B and S reflect confirmed directional state changes. BO and BD require price to close beyond the prior lookback range with measurable true range expansion — and take precedence over structural markers when both conditions are present on the same bar. A momentum weakening marker tracks early slope reversal within an active move across both impulsive and slow-grind path types, suppressed during low-range drift bars where it would carry no analytical value.
The visible trail line serves as the primary structural reference on the chart and anchors both the state engine and the expansion separation gate. Price relationship to the trail supports interpretation of active state across all market conditions.
